I’m a lifelong book lover who can talk about stories for hours. Whether it’s fiction or nonfiction, I’m always in the middle of a good read, and my to-be-read list somehow keeps growing. For me, reading isn’t just a hobby—it’s part of who I am.
Whether it's Summer or Winter, I can often be found enjoying time in the outdoor bliss of Kananaskis Provincial Park and Banff National Park. In the summer, I like to hike and golf. In the Winter, I can be found skating, and enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate in Banff or Canmore.
No matter the season, you will find me ponytail in place, exploring the Rockies in a colourful, albeit wrinkled jacket.
My passion for traveling has taken me many places and has changed my perception of the world. From the bustling streets of Jerusalem to the quiet bamboo forests on Maui I am always open to a new adventure.
I have had the opportunity to travel to North America, Asia, and Europe so far, I hope to make it to all 7 continents in my lifetime.
Here are some of my favourite pieces
What's one thing you want to talk about that doesn't come up often?
For 2023, I set a goal for myself to read 52 books. I ended up reading 65. I love telling people about what I read and how it was interesting, and have found that this is an excellent ice breaker when meeting new people. UPDATE: I have read 65 of 100 books so far in 2024.
If you weren't pursuing audiology, what would you be doing?
I strongly considered a career as a comedic writer and potentially a stand up comedian, but I'll have much more fun using my jokes to test your hearing!
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Barcelona. I have visited, and I would go back in a heart beat. I love the diversity, the proximity to the beach, and the fresh food!
What is one word that best describes you?
According to the Buzzfeed Quiz I just took, Cool. However, I would personally choose Tenacious.
Coffee or Tea?
I love chai tea lattes with oat milk - the spicier, the better!
What is your go - to karaoke song?
Honestly, it depends on the day. I can go for Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood or Bathroom Light by Mt. Joy
Favourite book(s)? Let's go for a Top 5.
The Book Thief by Markus Zuzak
A Very Punchable Face by Colin Jost
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
Favourite movie?
Captain America: The First Avenger
Apparently I have subconsciously taken a liking for fiction based in World War 2 - despite my lack of specific World War 2 event knowledge. By this logic, I guess Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark is also a pretty good movie.
Tiana's Ritz Rolo Bars
I would share a photo, but I eat them too fast!
50 ml or 1/4 cup margarine or butter
1.25 L or 5 cups miniature or 40 regular (250 g package) marshmallows
300g (1.5 boxes) of Ritz crackers, crushed.
1/2 cup of mini Rolo chocolates (my heart usually desires more, so add at your discretion)
Stove Top Directions:
1. In large saucepan over low heat, melt margarine. Add marshmallows; stir until melted and gooey. Remove from heat.
2. Crush and add the crackers, stirring until coated. Once crackers are coated, stir in rolos, saving a few to sprinkle on top.
3. Using lightly buttered spatula, press into buttered 8" x 8" pan.
4. Cool in the fridge for 30-60 mins if you can wait. Cut into bars.
5. Try to bring them to an event but inevitably eat them all :) Enjoy.
