ATSU Interprofessional Cross Campus Collaborative Case:
Completed a 5-week IPE experience with students from 3 other health professions including 2 Physician Assistants, 2 Nursing Students, and an Athletic Trainer, representing 4 university campuses. Developed an inter-professional care team to holistically address the complex needs of a hypothetical patient. Presented this work as a 20-minute talk to an interdisciplinary panel of judges.
Shadowed Audiologist at private hearing clinic providing diagnostic hearing tests, hearing loss diagnosis, hearing aid fitting, and tinnitus counselling to patients of all ages.
Trusted to clean and perform maintenance on hearing aids from several manufacturers.
Assisted with hearing tests for Postpartum Unit and NICU patients including neonates and compromised newborns. Exposed to and assisted with Otoacoustic Emissions and Auditory Brainstem Response tests under the supervision of the unit's therapy aide.
